If you are anything like me, you have a great love for animals, especially cats and dogs. I like to call them my furry little angels. As long as I can remember, I have always had a soft spot for cats. I remember when I was 5 years old while living in Memphis. My kindergarten teacher asked me if I would like 2 kittens. I was so excited and happy! Of course I had to ask my mother first. My teacher drove me home with the two little darlings, which were in a box. As soon as my mother saw my face and what was in the box she couldn't help but say yest to keeping them. My mom is wonderful that way.

Well, the two kittens were then mine and I named them Tom and Jerry. Tom was black-striped and Jerry was orange-striped, hence the names. I loved them very much and played and spent all my spare time with them. They were a joy to me. Then one day they were gone!? I looked everywhere for them but to no avail. Months later, sitting on the front curb I looked to my right, and there was a black-striped cat running down the grassline toward me. Could it be I thought... sure enough it was Tom. He had returned to me! He was rubbing me all over with love and affection. Of course it took me a bit to convince my family that it was Tom. I remember being so happy to see him. This was my first experience of happiness with cats that I can remember. I have many many more. I have rescued and saved many cats. They have also saved me. I have found homes for some and have kept most, or should I say, they have kept me. Of course you know that cats are the boss of their human(s) and not the other way around. I wouldn't have it any other way, would you?
